This numerically controlled machining center is equipped with a comprehensive range of accessories for milling and drilling applications, meeting every requirement in woodworking. Supporting Structure The supporting structure consists of a particularly robust, monolithic steel base, heavily ribbed and highly rigid; the extra-wide support area is specifically designed to give the machine exceptional stability, ensuring continual precision regardless of the working conditions. No floor anchoring is necessary. The base provides a large, stable foundation for the movable gantry: the machining unit is therefore mounted on a balanced, stable, and resilient support capable of withstanding the highest stresses, ensuring top-quality performance and greater accuracy. The movable gantry is a solid single piece anchored to the base and travels on high-quality prismatic rail guides with recirculating ball carriages; the machining unit is attached and moves along the Y and Z axes via prismatic guides and recirculating ball carriages. The movement of the lower mobile unit (X axis) and the machining unit along the bar of the mobile unit (Y axis) is achieved through helical rack and pinion drive, assuring greater tooth-to-tooth engagement for higher acceleration and increased speed along X and Y axes. The bespoke helical gearing design reduces mechanical component wear and lowers noise levels. The vertical Z axis is driven by a ball screw, ensuring perfect load balance during dynamic operation and strong acceleration and deceleration. The main milling unit is directly mounted on the Z-axis carriage, delivering absolute finishing quality by eliminating any vibrations. Traverses along the X-Y-Z axes are powered by brushless motors with static inverters, ensuring: – Reduced machining times due to enhanced acceleration – Better positioning accuracy with high-resolution encoders – Automatic reference point setting upon machine startup thanks to absolute encoders – Virtually no general maintenance, as the brushless system is brushless. Axis movement management and all machine work elements are controlled via an industrial NS module with digital data transmission.
