The ABB IRB 5400 is a highly specialized industrial robot series designed specifically for high-precision paint processes.

The hallmark of the IRB 5400 is its Hollow Wrist (HW). Unlike standard robots where hoses are strapped to the outside of the arm, the IRB 5400 routes all paint and air hoses through the center of the wrist.

Benefit: This eliminates "hose whip," prevents the hoses from snagging on parts, and significantly reduces the risk of paint contamination caused by debris falling from external cables.
