The vehicle has always been used as a radio communication vehicle / incident command vehicle / emergency response vehicle by the disaster control unit and then by the fire department. It was therefore a mobile operations center and command post, primarily used for major events.

The Sprinter was always kept in the heated hall; it was rarely – but regularly – used and regularly serviced (last service 1000 km ago).
