Eagle – The Alternative Laser Cutting Machine

For about 10 years, Eagle’s iNspire laser cutting machines have been setting new standards and introducing innovative concepts to the entire laser industry. The iNspire machine represents the ultimate implementation of fiber laser technology in a laser cutting system.

As the acceptance of fiber laser technology grows—as the most progressive future technology for cutting in sheet metal and metalworking industries—there is a significant shift from CO2 laser cutting machines toward the more advanced fiber laser technology. Eagle laser machines play an outstanding role in this transition. The design of the iNspire series was tailored from the start specifically for fiber technology, making it a true “zero compromise” laser cutting machine. There was no adaptation of previous CO2 concepts to fiber—complete redevelopment was the maxim.

“Zero Compromise” Laser Cutting Machine
A cutting speed of up to 150 m/min, positioning speed up to 350 m/min, acceleration of 6G (60m/s²), and table change times of less than 10 seconds serve as our baseline. We made no compromises—this technology's potential is delivered 100% to the operator.

All axes of the system are equipped with linear motors. These motors are mounted on both sides of the “X” gantry and also in the “Y” and “Z” axes. Why linear motors? They offer high acceleration and feed rates, are maintenance-free, and uniquely ensure that machine parameters such as acceleration and accuracy are consistently maintained over the entire machine lifespan.

The machine’s body is made of polymer concrete, a composite material with unique mechanical properties: a high vibration damping coefficient and excellent thermal stability. This provides a stable base for the fast and efficient linear motors, preventing vibrations during dynamic changes in the cutting head’s movement.

The gantry—the moving component on which the cutting head travels—must meet stringent requirements for speed and accuracy. It should be as light as possible while providing optimal rigidity. Carbon fiber meets these needs, enabling highly precise and dynamic cutting performance.

eVa Cutting Head – Specifically developed by us for fiber lasers, the eVa cutting head is designed for output up to 20 kW. It addresses all common issues associated with these power levels. Its unmatched resistance to contamination—thanks to fixed, fully encapsulated optics—is unique and allows on-site repair since all sensors are external. The distance between the protective glass and the nozzle is three times greater than in comparable heads, increasing the lifespan of the protective glass up to tenfold.

The table changer is fully automated, with components reduced to a minimum and constructed so robustly and simply that it functions entirely without hydraulics. Simultaneous movement of both tables allows a complete table change in under 10 seconds.

Software – To fully utilize all these advantages, we have developed a comprehensive software suite. In 2019, Eagle launched a new user interface (HMI) that further accelerates the machine and guarantees maximum operator comfort. The software architecture is fully optimized for touchscreen operation, providing unprecedented user-friendliness.
