Holzwerke Gleitsmann GmbH

Over 100 years ago, August Gleitsmann founded a round timber trading company for rafting timber in Wipfeld am Main. Since then, the company has remained family-owned—now in the third generation of the Gleitsmann family. Around 50 employees are spread across three locations: Unterspiesheim, Bergtheim, and Wipfeld. These sites are currently home to two hardwood sawmills, a construction timber sawmill, and a timber trading operation in Wipfeld.

Today, our locations in Unterspiesheim and Bergtheim specialize in hardwoods such as beech, oak, ash, and colored hardwoods. With an annual sawing capacity of approximately 33,000 cubic meters, we are among the largest sawmills in the region.

Furthermore, we operate 16 large-capacity drying chambers with a total volume of more than 10,000 cubic meters. This makes us one of the most efficient hardwood drying operations in Germany. Our gentle drying process ensures maximum color consistency combined with minimal surface cracking.
